Home-Start Horizons is proud to be involved with De Montfort University Communication Arts students this month (May 2019), telling the stories of children and families living on the breadline in Leicester .
Home-Start Horizon’s CEO, Stuart Sullivan, in his keynote speech at the event, spoke of the challenges faced by the City’s children with a backdrop of funding cuts, closure of children’s centres and rising poverty. The EXPO, called It Takes A City To Raise A Child, puts forward the students’ manifesto for change – aiming to urge communities to help improve the life chances of local children.
A documentary was unveiled focussing on Gurvinder who was supported by Home-Start Horizons with her two children. Gurvinder came through adversity to now having thriving children and volunteering for Home-Start Horizons.
